We have moved from our supersecret home in Vancouver to Gatineau, Quebec (across the river from Ottawa)! This doesn't change things much in the internet world but we just thought we'd let you know...

THE RAIN AND THE SIDEWALK - WEAKNESS IN EUROPE + TOUR
The new double CD WEAKNESS by THE RAIN AND THE SIDEWALK is now available in Europe. You can buy it via the fantastic CIEL-ROUGE, based in France. EU buyers can get it quicker and hassle-free via their site or at their cool shop in Dijon. Other titles by TRATS, BETTY KRACKER and EVAN SYMONS can also be purchased there, as well as an amazing selection of goth, industrial, alt/folk and experimental artists. The band is looking for shows in Ontario/Quebec for early/mid April, and in western EU for fall 2010. Contact Grrrabbit if you have a venue, gallery radio station and would like them to appear. THE RAIN AND THE SIDEWALK also played a fundraiser Jan. 9 for the SAFE AMPLIFICATION SITE SOCIETY, a group of artists and bands trying to create a permanent legal all ages venue that is unhampered by Vancouver's byzantine noise and performance laws. The event also featured KIDNAP KIDS!, OK VANCOUVER OK and others, raised a not unsubstantial amount, which is great for a January show. Pix here!

VIALKA TO PERFORM @ VICTORIAVILLE!
Our friends VIALKA will be featured at this year's Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville taking place on May 20-23! This French/Canadian twosome has been dazzling audiences around the world with their blend of folk, zouk, psych and punk sounds they've described as 'turbofolk'. The festival appearance is part of another series of shows the band will be performing in Canada that month. You gotta see Vialka live - here's a sample of them in Taiwan and Budapest!

EUROPE!
Yep, we're back here again; can't seem to stay away... We're were just at the Kids'n'Billies festival on June 27 in Nijmegen, Holland to see BIG JOHN BATES AND THE VOODOO DOLLS, TRIGGERFINGER, and BUNNY BONANZA. BJB+TVD were amazingly great, and were the highlight of the night. We partied with them, later on before getting ready to go to The Hague. The next day we hit ParkPop in The Hague to catch PRETENDERS and THE BUZZCOCKS! It's the largest festival in Europe; there were 3-400,000 people there.

On the 12th we're seeing CALEXICO, THE MAGIC NUMBERS, !!!, LAMB, THE NOTWIST and more at the Cactus Festival in Bruges, Belgium. And a ton more, too! While we're gone, orders will be sent as usual thanks to our friend Trevor!

I have made two compilations of songs from the releases below, and will make them available for download on a donation basis; to access the compilations you will have to donate via PayPal; all funds gathered will be split amongst the artists featured. More on that soon...

We have returned from Europe for a bit. We are still waiting for the longer visa. So, while we are here we need to eaapnd the catalogue a bit. We have had remarkable response from the EU, with most of our sales coming from France where we will be based. Having a presence on both sides of the ocean will cut down shipping time considerably. I am renovating the site. I wanted to keep it nice and simple because Flash is a pain in the ass and in some cases, a distraction from the music. I am also far too undisciplined to learn Flash fast enough. Anyway, I would like to at least double the catalog before then, so if you want me to sell your awesome new CD or DVD, or whatever, contact me now!

I am mastering the long unreleased CD from gothic alt country act SIGNAL 30 for release. It features TAYLOR LITTLE from BUGHOUSE 5 and SHILO LINDASY, and SCOTT FLETCHER (The ROSWELLS). Should be out in spring also.
